Cody is a real-life mini dachshund with a giant heart, a nose for mischief, and a tail that never stops wagging. He lives in the big city with his human mom (that’s me!), his dad, and his two curious brothers: a wise orange cat who thinks he’s royalty and a bouncy mini Goldendoodle who’s always up for a game of chase.
Together, we’re a little family with big imaginations. Inspired by Cody’s adventures, we dream up joyful stories, charming creations, and moments of everyday magic—all from the perspective of one small sausage pup with a very big personality.

Meet Cody’s mom (the author)
Rikki Teeters at Soul Canvas Studios, is a lifelong storyteller, dog devotee, and the proud human mom behind Cody’s big adventures. Born in a small town in Ohio, Rikki has followed her curiosity (and her pets) across the country—living in places as varied and vibrant as Seattle, Portland, California, New York City, Washington D.C., Cincinnati, Columbus, and Virginia.
Along the way, she’s collected stories, inspiration, and a deep appreciation for the little things that make each place feel like home—especially when shared with a four-legged friend.
By day, Rikki is a seasoned UX design leader with over a decade of experience creating thoughtful, human-centered experiences. By night (and early mornings with Cody), she channels her creativity into whimsical tales that celebrate imagination, kindness, and the magical bond between pets and their people.
She now lives with her husband and their lovable trio: Cody the mini dachshund (the star of the show), a playful Goldendoodle, and an orange cat who insists he’s in charge. Whether designing digital experiences or bedtime stories, Rikki brings warmth, heart, and a little bit of wonder to everything she creates.
Her mission? To share joy, connection, and a bit of whimsy—one tail-wagging tale at a time.
